As I read articles after articles about this devastating state in parts of our world,I can't help but to think about how this crisis will never come to end but continue on in a vicious cycle...
Billions of children have died and are dying."Every year 15 million children die of hunger",(http://library.thinkquest.org/C002291/high/present/stats.htm). Even if they live through it,the suffering doesn't seem worth living through. We do have many organisations(world food programme, world vision, feed the children, etc.) trying to do their bid to help these many victims but there's only so much that can be done.
Causes for this misfortune include adverse weather conditions which makes it very difficult for crops to grow.Apart from that,I feel that the government's inefficiency over the many many years hasn't made anything better for it's people. What's really frustrating is that CHILDREN are paying for their inefficiency...not just CHILDREN but millions of them. The term millions already suggest the fact of overpopulation which is also probably one of the contributing factors to the never ending shortage of food, and overpopulation links back to an inefficient government. If the people were educated on basic things like family planning or if they had restrictions like the one child policy like the one China had,maybe...just maybe, things would not have got out of hand till this very day.
it's just sad...really is...
This is why we should never take what we have for granted and we should be more aware of the difficulties that others face in the world. I believe that empathy towards another person makes us better people.I know I said that only so much could be done but at least that would still make a difference to someone out there in need. It will not eradicate the crisis but it still makes a difference...
